HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Two people were injured after a vehicle struck a building on Linda Lane this morning in the City of Harrisonburg.
Communications Director Mike Parks reports that a single vehicle crashed into one of the units at the Howard Johnson Hotel a little before 9 o’clock, shutting down the road between East Market Street and Country Club Road.
“One vehicle that appears to have backed into the building in one spot and then drove into a room in another spot, which caused the majority of the damage,” Parks said.
An individual in the vehicle and a person inside the hotel room were both reportedly transported for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A building official from Community Development is currently inspecting the building to make sure the structure is safe to remain open.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
