WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — Two different road work projects could cause delays in Waynesboro today.

Waynesboro Public Works says water crews will be installing new water service in the 1300 block of East Main Street.

Traffic will remain open, however a lane shit work zone will be in place, so delays could be possible.

Meanwhile, beginning at 8am this morning, Poplar Avenue at the railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic while a railroad contractor performs crossing improvements.

The closure is expected to last 24 to 48 hours and will remain in place until the work is complete.

A detour will be in place, so allow extra travel time and follow posted traffic signs.
