WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The trial of a man allegedly connected with a gun-related incident last fall at William Perry Elementary School is over before it began.

According to online records, Christopher Richard Cook, who was indicted in March on three charges including Child Abuse, Leaving a Loaded Gun, and Endangering the Life of a Child, saw his trial dismissed this week in Waynesboro Circuit Court.

Meanwhile, Crystal Monique Harris, also allegedly involved in the incident, has a hearing scheduled for September 14th where she faces two charges including Cruelty and Injuries to a Child and Allowing Access to Firearms by Children.

The pair were arrested last October after it was discovered that a firearm was placed inside a student’s bookbag the month before.
