HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation has launched a new mobile app designed to make riding HB Connect buses easier and more convenient.
Beginning Monday, July 13, riders will be able to download the myStop app to view local bus routes, track buses in real time and receive estimated arrival times for their stops. The app also will provide service alerts and notifications to help passengers plan their trips.
HDPT Director Gerald Gatobu said the new technology will improve access to public transit for the tens of thousands of riders who rely on the system each year.
“We are very grateful to be able to serve tens of thousands of riders every year get where they need to go in The Friendly City,” Gatobu said. “This new app will make it easier for many of our riders to use HB Connect to get to work, to shopping, to school or anywhere else in Harrisonburg.”
After downloading myStop, users can enable location services or search for “Harrisonburg” to access local routes. Although the app will be available starting July 13, it will remain in a testing phase until its official launch in August, and users are encouraged to submit feedback through the app.
The department will continue to support riders through its HB Connect, HB Access and HB Flex programs, as well as school bus service for Harrisonburg City Public Schools. The current Passio Go app will remain available for HB Connect riders through Aug. 1, 2026.
More information about local transit services is available on the city’s transit website.
