STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Staunton man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly fleeing a shooting scene Tuesday night.
Staunton Police say they responded to the 800 block of Springhill Road for a report of shots fired, where the suspect had fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. During the incident, two occupied vehicles and a building were struck by gunfire. One person in the building sustained a minor injury.
Staunton Police said the suspect, 26-year-old Christopher S. Shifflett was arrested on June 13 and has been charged with malicious wounding, aggravated attempted malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Shifflett is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
