HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah Valley Theatre Collective is opening this summer with its inaugural Actors’ Studio Training Camp.

The camp is designed for homeschool students and youth who lack access to traditional theatre programs.a new faith-rooted, youth-centered theatre co-op, officially launches this summer with its inaugural Actors’ Studio Training Camp — four sessions running July 13, July 20, July 27, and August 3. Registration is open now at svtheatre.net.

“Theatre isn’t a luxury — it’s one of the most powerful tools we have for raising confident, compassionate, courageous kids,” says Jim Collver, SVTC founder. “Every role matters, whether you’re center stage or running the lights. We’re building more than a program here… we’re building a community where kids discover who they are and families find a place they truly belong.”

The Actors’ Studio Training Camp offers age-specific, intensive training in acting technique, character development, vocal work, and stage presence. Two tracks serve students in grades 4–7 (July 13 & 27 camps) and grades 8–12 (July 20 & August 3 camps). SVTC’s approach moves beyond performance mechanics to focus on confidence-building, empathy, and life skills — the kind of growth, Collver notes, that “sticks long after their curtain call.”

In honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary, SVTC is offering a special “America 250” celebration discount for families who register between June 4 & July 4. Details and registration are available at www.svtheatre.net.
