AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Several Augusta County offices and courts are closing early today in preparation for this afternoon’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Augusta County Courthouse.

The General District Court closes at 1, both the Circuit and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts close at 3, and the Augusta County Government Center shuts down for the day at 3:30.

Following the opening ceremony at 4 o’clock this afternoon, the courthouse will be open for public tours, giving citizens an opportunity to walk through the new facility and see the improvements firsthand.

The commemorative event will run through 7pm tonight.

The new courthouse is located at 100 Dick Huff Lane in Verona.
