HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Sperryville Community Alliance (SCA) and Rappahannock Association for Arts and Community (RAAC) announced the sixth season of the free outdoor Sperryville Summer Concert Series.
The series–every third Thursday, May through September–kicks off May 21 at 6-8 PM with Harrisonburg-based band, Rebecca Porter and the Rhinestone Roses, on stage in the River District, 7 River Lane, Sperryville, VA.

May 21 – Rebecca Porter and the Rhinestone Roses
Raised in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and born in Guam, Rebecca Porter’s bold songwriting and striking voice blend Appalachia with Pacific Island warmth. Her 2023 EP Queen of the Local and 2025 debut Roll with the Punches have earned national acclaim from NPR’s Mountain Stage, No Depression, The Bluegrass Situation, KEXP, and Lonesome Highway. Expect a dynamic six-piece band featuring guitars, fiddle, pedal steel, bass, and drums.
June 18 – Pictrola
Known for electrifying performances at festivals like Grey Fox, DelFest, and IBMA Live, Northern Virginia’s Pictrola fuses bluegrass tradition with freewheeling improvisation. Their hit song “More Than We Can Fix” won a 2024 WAMMIE Award, and “Indy Air” landed on Spotify’s Newgrass playlist. The band’s diverse influences — from jazz to jamgrass — make every show unpredictable and full of energy. Band members: Mike Shade (guitar, vocals), Josh Ungar (mandolin, vocals), Evan Sands (banjo, vocals), Dan Henderson (fiddle, vocals), and Taylor Gerber (bass).
July 16 – District Dad Band
A local favorite with an irreverent twist, District Dad Band gets the crowd dancing to everything from bluegrass to classic rock to pop hits. They promise fun for the whole family — and the occasional surprise cover you didn’t know you needed. Band members: Paul Kilbridge (guitar, mandolin), Andrew Curry (guitar, bass), Al Masino (banjo, mandolin), David Mortlock (ukulele, harmonica), and Dustin Degrande (beatbox).
August 20 – Tinsmith For over two decades
Tinsmith has delighted audiences with high-energy Celtic and Appalachian old-time music flavored with touches of blues, funk, and jazz. A three-time invitee to the North Texas Irish Festival, the band has played venues from The Barns at Wolf Trap to the Potomac Celtic Festival. Band members: Brooke Parkhurst (vocals, tin whistle, banjo, flute), Rowan Corbett (guitar, bouzouki, bones, vocals), and Henry Cross (bass, vocals).
September 17 – Gold Top County Ramblers
This beloved Sperryville-based band brings their signature “string rock” and bluegrass spirit to close out the season. Band members: Adam Rogers (mandolin, vocals), Jesse Rogers (bass), Tucker Rogers (resonator guitar), Matt Davis (banjo), James Reid (drums), and Evan Childress (fiddle).
