ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Authorities are warning of another traffic violation notification scam making the rounds in Rockingham County.

Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson says his office has recently received multiple reports of a fraudulent “Final Enforcement Notice” text message for alleged traffic violations circulating in the area, supposedly from Richmond District Court.

Hutcheson emphasizes that the notices are not legitimate, and residents should not scan the Q-R code included in the fake document or include any personal information.

Also, never rely on phone numbers provided in suspicious notices, but rather verify court-related matters directly through the court by personally looking up the court’s contact information.
