HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Yesterday’s Special Election results on redistricting are yet another example of an enduring divide between the Shenandoah Valley’s cities and counties.
For the entire state of Virginia, 3.1 million people voted with 51.5% of voters voting yes and 48.4% voting no.

Augusta County – 58% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 21.83% voted yes, 78.17% voted no
Frederick County – 50% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 34.64% voted yes, 65.36% voted no
Harrisonburg – 37% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 64.97% voted yes, 35.03% voted no
Highland County – 62% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 23.49% voted yes, 76.51% voted no
Page County – 52% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 19.82% voted yes, 80.18% voted no
Rockbridge County – 57% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 27.86% voted yes, 72.14% voted no
Rockingham County – 59% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 24.71% voted yes, 75.29% voted no

Shenandoah County – 54% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 25.37% voted yes, 74.63% voted no
Staunton – 51% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 55.06% voted yes, 44.94% voted no
Winchester – 41% of registered voters submitted a ballot. 55.61% voted yes, 44.39% voted no
Following the results, the state Supreme Court will still need to amend the Virginia Constitution.
