WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A dispute over the weekend in Waynesboro turned violent and resulted in one person being hospitalized and another in jail.

Waynesboro Police Captain Benjamin Lemons says that officers responded last Saturday to the 700 block of East Main Street following reports of a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and was taken to UVA Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Lemons adds that following a canvas of the area, the suspect was located a short time later in the area of 6th Street and North Commerce Avenue.

26-year-old Ian Michael Fisher of Waynesboro was then arrested for use of a firearm in commission of a felony and malicious wounding. Fisher is currently being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
