AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Augusta County Clerk of the Circuit Court R. Steven Landes has announced that his office will receive a nearly $28 thousand grant to restore executive papers, plats, field notes and a will book ranging from 1745 to 1778.

The Circuit Court Records Preservation Grants Review Board approved the grant at their meeting last week.

The review board considered 151 applications from 104 localities, and as a result, a total of $2.25 million were awarded during this grant cycle.

Landes stated these documents and records will soon be sent off for restoration.
