HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – On WSVA’s Early Mornings, Mary Godinez of Cross Keys Farm discussed the farm’s diverse operations and the upcoming second annual Blossom (Bloom) Festival, held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their Harrisonburg location. She explained that Cross Keys is a you‑pick fruit and berry farm growing a wide range of fruits—especially apples, with about 135 varieties including many heirlooms—and also operates a wholesale fruit tree business. Godinez noted concerns about recent fluctuating spring temperatures, which damaged some plum and apricot blossoms but have so far spared peaches and apples. The Blossom Festival is designed for all ages and features children’s activities like kite flying, bubble stations, a scavenger hunt, and multiple Easter egg hunts, along with hayrides (the only paid activity), live vendors, crafts, food trucks, and local products such as honey, oils, kitchen goods, artwork, and specialty items. The event is rain or shine and is located at 3022 Cross Keys Road, next to White Oak Lavender Farm.
