HARRISONBURG, Va – A crowd of nearly 300 supporters descended on the Rockingham County Fairgrounds Wednesday night for state senator Mark Obenshain’s annual seafood social.
The Harrisonburg Republican’s event, called Oysters with Obenshain, came as early voting in Virginia kicks off tomorrow for this year’s general election.
Attorney General Jason Miyares and Speaker of the House of Delegates Todd Gilbert were both invited to speak at the event. Gilbert said that an expected drop in voter turnout means that voting matters even more this cycle.
He went on to quote Governor Youngkin, saying “rules are rules, and we’re gonna beat (the Democrats) at their own game.”
