SHENANDOAH, Va – It is a year of probation but no jail time for the Rockingham County man accused of having a knife while on the grounds of Shenandoah Elementary School.

Online records indicated that Thomas Benjamin Loving of McGaheysville was found guilty of possessing a weapon on school property during a hearing Thursday afternoon in Page County General District Court.

A judge then sentenced the 47-year-old Loving to a year in jail with all of it suspended.

The school went into a lockdown mode on March 30th after a report of a man possibly armed with a gun was in the vicinity.

No gun was present but Loving was arrested after possessing a knife on the property.
