MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va – The new Buc-ees travel center planned for the Mount Crawford exit off I-81, when it opens, is expected to serve hundreds of thousands of people every month.
Rockingham County administrator Stephen King told Early Mornings today that the company discovered a staggering number of potential customers at this site while scoping out possible locations.
The county stands to see a million-dollar boost in annual tax revenue from the 74-thousand-square-foot megastore.
King said Buc-ees has not yet purchased the land where the store will be, but he expects them to do so soon.
After that, county supervisors will need to approve the company’s large interstate sign before the project is official.
