GREENVILLE, VA (Rocktown Now) – Fire and Rescue crews responded to a crash involving a propane truck yesterday afternoon in the Greenville area.
Augusta County’s Division Chief of Training Colten Lotts says units were dispatched shortly after 4:30 to a multi-vehicle accident in the 5200 block of Lee Jackson Highway.
“When we arrived, we had three vehicles involved: a propane truck, a work service vehicle, and a passenger vehicle,” Lotts reported.
All lanes of the highway were shut down while crews freed a passenger trapped inside one of the vehicles and cleared the roadway of spilled oil and diesel fuel.
Several individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The scene was cleared at around 7:30, and the crash remains under investigation.
