BUENA VISTA, VA (Rocktown Now) – A Staunton man was arrested in connection with a series of recent vehicle tampering incidents in residential areas of Buena Vista.

Authorities say Cody Joseph Shores of Staunton is now in custody on three counts of tampering with a vehicle, two counts of Petit Larceny, and one count of Felony Grand Larceny related to the theft of a vehicle that occurred over the same period.

The Buena Vista Police Department, with assistance from Rockbridge and Augusta County Sheriff’s Offices, was able to develop investigative leads using information gathered from license place reader technology that resulted in Shores’ arrest.
