ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — It is now being confirmed that the next Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry in Virginia has been named and is from the Shenandoah Valley.

Katie Frazier, a native of Bridgewater, Virginia, has been selected to be Virginia’s next Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry. The current Secretary, Matt Lohr, who is also from Rockingham County, gave us the news.

“So, a local Rockingham County girl, Katie Frazier, Katie was Katie Kyger. Billy Kyger was her father, served many years on the Board of Supervisors. But she has been just a longtime advocate for agriculture and I’ve known Katie since she was in high school and I couldn’t be more I’m pleased with the selection,” Lohr said.
