“Ronald L. King is still incarcerated at Middle River Regional Jail. At his initial court appearance in the General District Court, the defendant was granted a bond over the objection of the Commonwealth’s Attorney. The Commonwealth’s Attorney subsequently appealed the defendant’s release to the Circuit Court. The defendant will remain held at Middle River Regional Jail until a bond determination can be made by that court on December 3rd. The information released yesterday was incorrect. At no point was Mr. King released on bond.”

WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – A Waynesboro man has been arrested on charges related to abduction and rape.
According to Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith, authorities received a report of a female who was allegedly being held against her will in the 400 block of Sandy Ridge Road on November 18th.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies interviewed the female victim and transported her to Augusta Health for medical treatment.
As a result of the investigation that followed, on November 21st, Ronald L. King was arrested at his home in Waynesboro on charges of Abduction by force and Rape by Force, Threat, or Intimidation.
After an appearance in General District Court, the 58-year-old King has been released from Middle River Regional Jail on bond at this time.
This remains an active investigation.
