WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Wayne Theatre will premiere Scrooge! on December 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM at 521 W. Main Street in Downtown Waynesboro, Virginia.
The musical follows the story of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, which follows Ebeneezer Scrooge being visited by Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Past, Present and Future.

Artistic Director of the Wayne Theatre and the director of this production, Lesley Larsen, said she chose this production because it is her favorite adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
“Every year of my life, I have watched this show, and we watch it at Christmas Eve. That’s the last thing we see, and we hear before we go to bed and wake up on Christmas morning,” said Larsen. “So, it has a deep personal connection to me.”

Jake Krug, who plays Ebeneezer Scrooge, says the show is a really good story that he thinks can resonate with a lot of people.
“No matter where you come from, it’s a story that kind of crosses over cultures where you have someone who is dealing with some great loss in his life and he just becomes bitter towards things,” said Krug. “And he needs to take some time to reflect and realize where he’s come in his life, how his actions impact other people, and find out that he doesn’t have to be this sad, angry, curmudgeonly person.”
