FOREST, Va. – Three members of the Bridgewater College softball team have earned All-ODAC honors, which were announced by the league on Tuesday.

Graduate student catcher Sarah Wimer leads the charge for the Eagles, claiming a spot on the first team. This comes as Wimer’s second consecutive first team selection and the third All-ODAC nod in her career. Wimer posted a batting average of .397 which was sixth best in the conference for the 2023 season. She also ranked third in the conference in on-base percentage boasting a .480 clip. The Broadway, Virginia native recorded a total of 50 hits and 22 RBI on the season, plus drew a team-high 21 walks and posted a .524 slugging percentage. In addition, Wimer played all 42 games behind the plate and tossed out 14 runners trying to steal and finished with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Torie Shifflett, a graduate student from Dayton, Virginia reeled in her third-consecutive second team All-ODAC honor at second base. Shifflett sat at 10th in the league with a .356 batting average and recorded 23 RBI on 53 hits this season, as well. Additionally, Shifflett led the team with 14 doubles, which is tied for fifth-most in a single-season for BC.

A standout freshman shortstop, McKenna Mueller garnered her first All-ODAC nod earning a spot on the third team. The Providence Forge, Virginia native closed out the season with 35 hits and a .299 batting average. Mueller drove in 19 runs and came around to score 19 times and was also among team leaders with seven doubles.

Bridgewater finished the season with an overall record 20-22, going .500 in conference play with a record of 10-10 and advanced to the ODAC Tournament.
