WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A brush fire broke out along Stuarts Draft Highway today in Waynesboro.

Augusta County Fire and Rescue dispatched crews to the intersection of Shalom Road and Route 340 south around for 11:20 this morning responding to reports of a brush fire along the roadway.

Lanes within the affected area of Stuarts Draft Highway were closed as firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire has not yet been reported.
