HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE (3:55 PM): According to Virginia State Police (VSP), at approximately 10:24 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, VSP responded to a vehicle into a building at the 2100 block of John Wayland Highway in Harrisonburg.

A 2006 Honda SUV driven by a 75-year-old female from Harrisonburg crashed into the front of the building.

No injuries were reported, and the driver was charged with reckless driving on parking lots.

The crash remains under investigation.

It appears that the Smoke House and Vape Shop and ABC Store in Garber’s Crossing suffered damage after a car drove through the front door of the stores this morning.

Police have not released details of what happened. No injuries were reported.

It is not known how long those stores will be closed as the cleanup process continues.

Incidentally, it is the fourth time in the last few years that a car has driven into a store in that shopping center on John Wayland Highway, including three times in the A-B-C Store.

This is a developing story.
