HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE: 4:15PM All lanes of South Main Street are now open.

Harrisonburg Public Utilities crews are working to resolve a water line break at South Main Street near Port Republic Road.

Northbound lanes of Main Street are currently closed between Port Republic Road and Fairview Avenue. Crews have placed a clamp on the line and the break is repaired. The area around the line must now be cleared out and the roadway patched. Lanes are expected to remain closed for approximately two hours.

Authorities are asking those passing through the affected area to drive cautiously.

Additionally, water customers in the area will likely experience service disruptions until repairs are complete.
