NEW MARKET, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office and Broadway Police Department have arrested a man on alleged child abuse charges.

SCSO says they began an investigation in March regarding child abuse in the New Market Area. During further investigation, the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office discovered evidence of sexual abuse involving the children.

34-year-old Charles W. Dove of New Market was identified as the suspect in the investigation. He was arrested and transported to Rockingham County Regional Jail where he was held without bond.

Warrants were served on Dove on Thursday, July 10, including four counts of taking indecent liberties with children. Additional charges are pending.
