SHENANDOAH, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE: Shenandoah National Park has suspended the investigation into missing person Robert “Bob” Bieri. Search teams located the body of Mr. Bieri at 12:13 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, near Lewis Falls.

Mr. Bieri, 61, of Severna Park, Maryland was reported missing on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was last seen off-trail in the vicinity of Lewis Falls. Shenandoah National Park activated a full-scale search operation late evening on July 5.

Robert “Bob” Bieri was last seen off-trail in the vicinity of Lewis Falls on Saturday evening, and a full-scale search operation was activated the same day.

He is 5-feet, 10-inches tall and has gray hair and brown eyes.

The 61-year-old was wearing a short-sleeved red shirt, green shorts, a fanny pack, glasses and tennis shoes before going missing.

The search is led by Shenandoah National Park Search and Rescue personnel aided by Virginia Department of Emergency Management and Virginia State Police.
