LURAY VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host its annual “Fourth of July Children’s Parade” on Friday, July 4.
The parade will begin at 10:00am at Luray’s Inn Lawn Park. Participation is open to children of all ages.
Children are encouraged to wear their most patriotic attire and decorate their favorite mode of transportation that is not motorized (bicycle, tricycle, scooter, wagon, etc.).
The parade will be led by a police cruiser and a fire truck featuring Mayor Stephanie Lillard.
Small flags will be given to carry in the parade, which follows a short, circular route through the blocked-off streets surrounding the Park, from Jamison Avenue to Amiss Avenue to Cave Street and back to Inn Lawn.
Following the event, the Town of Luray and the Luray Downtown Initiative will host the “Downtown Get Down” from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
This event includes multiple stages of live music, games, activities, food vendors and fireworks later in the day.
