Joe Mullins with Rockingham County Fire and Rescue, cautions about being careful if you plan to ignite fireworks and suggests attending fireworks shows being put on in the Shenandoah Valley. Heavy rain can lead to flash flooding and Paul Helmuth, emergency coordinator with the City of Harrisonburg, talks about the unpredictable summer storms that can drop a lot of rain in a short period of time. Luke Walker with the Harrisonburg Fire Department talks about how city residents can get a free pizza, and have their smoke detector checked by the HFD on July 9th, 2025.
