ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative has received reports of scams for their customers.
Scammers are making rounds, knocking on members’ doors, claiming an affiliation with SVEC in hopes of setting up a solar installation and/or learning more about their bill.
SVEC reminds customers that the co-op will not go door-to-door, or call members for that matter, seeking participation in solar energy programming.
If you have questions about someone representing SVEC on your property, call them at 1-800-234-7832.
The co-op notes they do currently have contractors working on residential meter exchanges, and they travel in SVEC-marked vehicles and can show you appropriate identification.
