RICHMOND, Va – The Republican governors of Virginia and West Virginia have made their feelings clear about the historic indictment of former president Donald Trump.
In a two-part post to his personal Twitter account, Governor Glenn Youngkin said he thinks it’s “beyond belief” that Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg took the extraordinary step of bringing charges against Trump.
The governor claimed the D-A’s motive is “pure political gain” and the charges were filed on a “manufactured basis.”
Meanwhile, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice called the developments a “witch hunt” in a written statement.
Trump is the first former president to face criminal charges. The specific counts remain sealed by a New York court.
