The Shenandoah County man accused of setting a fire to an antique structure last summer has taken responsibility for the crime.

Online records show that Ray Kerns, a former Woodstock firefighter from Toms Brook, pled guilty to arson of an unoccupied building and entering a dwelling with intent to commit arson.

Both counts are felonies.

Last August, the 37-year-old Kerns set ablaze a 120-year-old building on West Locust Street in Woodstock.

A sentencing hearing is set for June 9th in Shenandoah County Circuit Court.
