HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg’s Water Treatment Plant is nearing the capability to run at full service, however, water conservation efforts remain.

Public Works most recently reported yesterday that the plant made significant progress toward reestablishing the stored, available water supplies, but reduced water usage from community members and local businesses where possible is still needed is still recommended.

Last Friday, City Council declared a Local Emergency, allowing for the quick allocation of resources if needed to mitigate the issue or support the community in coming days.

The declaration does not require any additional action by residents other than the conservation measures already in effect.
