RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered that all U.S. and Virginia flags be flown at half-staff today in memory and respect of Peace Officers’ Memorial Day.

Youngkin stated in the order that Virginians will honor the law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty and recognize their sacrifices, as well as the hardship and loss suffered by the families of those fallen officers.

The flags will be lowered at sunrise today and remain at half-staff until sunset.
