RADFORD, Va. (JMU Athletics) – Radford scored four runs in the first inning, as James Madison baseball fell, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium.

The Dukes dropped to 13-32 while the Highlanders improved to 24-21, winning their 10th game in 12 tries.

At the plate, junior Wyatt Peifer went 2-for-4 with a home run to lead the offense. Junior Brode Susce tossed a season-high three innings of relief and struck out two batters.

How It Happened
First Inning
Radford struck first, having its first four batters all reach base. The Highlanders scored four runs in the inning off of three hits to take the early 4-0 lead.

Fourth Inning
Back-to-back doubles in the fourth added a run for Radford, making the score 5-0.

Seventh Inning
The Highlanders added a run to make it 6-0, utilizing two doubles to knock a run in.

Eighth Inning
Two runs were added to Radford’s lead, making it 8-0 on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.

Ninth Inning
Peifer put the Dukes on the board with his second homer in four games, taking a 1-2 pitch over the wall in straightaway center to make the score 8-1.
