HARRISONBURG, VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of the Shenandoah Valley, warning residents of potentially damaging cold temperatures overnight. The advisory, which goes into effect from 2 AM to 8 AM EDT on Monday, affects Page, Shenandoah, Augusta, and Rockingham Counties. Forecasters predict temperatures will dip into the mid-30s, leading to the formation of frost. The chilly conditions may pose a risk to sensitive outdoor vegetation. Plants left uncovered could suffer damage or, in some cases, be killed by the frost. Take necessary precautions, such as covering delicate plants or bringing them indoors. While daytime temperatures are expected to rebound, those with agricultural interests or home gardens should prepare for the cold temperatures.
A cold front exiting the area early today will make for a windy start to our Sunday. Canadian high pressure follows, bring sunshine for today and Monday. A Canadian high will bring sunny skies to the Shenandoah Valley today and Monday. A cold front, assoicated with a low over Ontario, will head our way Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing clouds and a chance for showers and thunderstorms midweek.
