STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – Rodney Dwayne Phillips has been found “Not Guilty.”

That’s the result of the 36-year-old’s second murder trial that ended yesterday in Staunton Circuit Court.

According to online records, Phillips was found “Not Guilty” of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 39-year-old Jonathan Jacobs of Staunton, according to online records.

Jacobs was shot to death March 8th of last year in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson motel on North Central Avenue.

Rodney Phillips’ first trial in January ended in mistrial after the jury could not reach a verdict.
