SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after a traffic stop on April 9th that led to finding drugs.
The SCSO said in a release that the traffic stop took place in the area of the 2000 block of John Marshall Highway in Strasburg. SCSO Narcotics K-9 Axel gave a positive alert for drugs.
A further investigation was conducted and five capsules of suspected fentanyl, five vials of suspected cocaine, Suboxone strips, other various Controlled Substance tablets, and multiple syringes recovered.
The driver, identified as Christopher Corey Powers of Dundalk, MD, was charged with Possession of a Sch. I or II Controlled Substance, Driving Without a License, Fail to Stop at a Stop Sign, and Fugitive from Justice. Additional charges are pending.
Deputies arrested Powers and transported him to the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren (RSW) Regional Jail where he was held without bond.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
