MISENHEIMER, N.C.– The Bridgewater College women’s lacrosse team walked over Pfeiffer in an 18-1 rout on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bridgewater found the back of the net early and often in the first quarter of the contest. Kaity Petersheim found Lauren Roberts less than a minute in to open the scoring, quickly followed by Jenna Entsminger notching a goal off a pass from Madeline Magill at the 12:30 mark for a 2-0 lead. Magill scored a few minutes later followed by Miranda Coleman’s first collegiate score and Caris Cianelli also scored inside the game’s first 10 minutes. Grace Pietro and Kaitlyn Clark also scored as the Eagles led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.

• The scoring run continued as Roberts, Kena Gresham and Petersheim all scored early on in the second period with Petersheim tallying a pair of goals. Madeline Godat and Delaney Kerns each tallied their first collegiate goals before Pietro scored onces again in the last 30 seconds of the half as BC held on to a 15-0 halftime lead.

• Clark scored her second of the game to start the second half before the Falcons registered their first score of the game off the stick of Analise Robinson as Bridgewater led 16-1 after 45 minutes.

• Clark and Gresham each scored another goal in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles to the 18-1 final.

GAME STATS
• Clark and Gresham each recorded hat tricks in the victory with Clark also grabbing a ground ball.

• Petersheim also finished with three points on two goals and an assist.

• Pietro, Roberts, Godat and Magill all tallied a pair of points, while six players finished with at least one point, including Faith Bartos and Aunnie Hacker who each registered an assist.

• The Eagles caused 12 turnovers, including Rachael Robinson snagging three passes for three CTs and three ground balls, while Cianelli and Tavin Krick each forced a pair of turnovers. Aubrey Beale, Lindsay Davis, Julia Mohler and Olivia Lawrence all also recorded a caused turnover.

• Robinson stopped six shots compared to just one goal allowed, while Jordan Pendergraft made eight saves in the win.

• Bridgewater held a 16-12 edge in ground balls and peppered 33 shots on the Falcons compared to just nine from the home side.
