MAURERTOWN, VA (Rocktown Now) — A wanted criminal was discovered in Shenandoah County.

According to a release from the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were made aware Saturday that a wanted felon, Nathan Berry, was residing in the 2-hundred block of Maurertown Mill Road in Maurertown.

By 4:30pm, police executed a search warrant for the location, but the 32-year-old fled before officers could enter the residence.

After a short foot pursuit, Berry was taken into custody without further incident.

Warrants on file and served on Berry include two Capias’ for Underlying charge of Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, one count of Malicious Wounding, and one count of Assault and Battery.
