How It Happened
First Inning
Georgia State placed its first six batters of the game on base, loading the bases before a single gave it a 2-0 lead.

After a pitching change that saw Mozoki strike out the first three batters he saw to end the top of the first, the bats for the Dukes responded with three runs of their own. Junior Wyatt Peifer clobbered his second homer of the season to get JMU on the board. A single from freshman Jack Anderson and a ground-rule double off the bat of junior Jack Cannizzaro plated a run each for a 3-2 lead.

Second Inning
GSU retook the lead, beginning the inning with a triple ahead of groundout to tie the game. A homer from Kaleb Freeman then made it 4-3.

Fourth Inning
Back-to-back doubles from Cannizzaro and junior Maddux Fleck tied the game at four for the Dukes. Senior Eli Steadman then singled through the right side of the infield to score Fleck and give JMU a 5-4 lead.

Seventh Inning
The Panthers regained their lead with a two-out, two-run triple to make it 6-5.

Ninth Inning
A two-run homer from Jesse Donohoe extended Georgia State’s lead to 8-5.
