HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison softball outscored Georgetown 15-2 in Wednesday’s doubleheader as it swept the Hoyas by a score of 8-0 in five innings in game one and 7-2 in game two, in midweek action at Veterans Memorial Park.

Madison Edwards led the offensive charge for JMU (13-20, 0-9 SBC) with three hits, two runs scored, and three RBI, including a two-run home run in game one and the go-ahead RBI single in game two.

Jasmine Hall also had three hits between the two contests, with her second double of the year coming in the fifth inning, ahead of Edwards’ two-run shot. Cali Legzdin, Reed Butler, and Abbie Campbell all had two RBI days as well.

Georgetown (8-20, 0-12 Big East) could not figure out the Dukes’ pitching tandem of Kirsten Fleet and Payton List who went a combined 13.0 innings, allowing just two runs on six hits, while striking out 17 Hoyas.

List’s career-high 12-strikeout complete game was the first of her career and the first Duke to fan 12 in a single game since Alissa Humphrey against UConn on Feb. 20, 2022

Claire Turner had two hits for Georgetown, driving in one in the second game while making a sensational grab in center field.
