HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – UPDATE: Harrisonburg Police officers responded to an individual in crisis making threats to harm himself and others at the Sentara Medical Center on E Market St. at 11:15 AM. After negotiating with the individual, the HPD S.W.A.T. team was able to take him into custody safely and without injury.

The Harrisonburg Police Department posted a safety alert today due to heavy police presence in the area of Spotswood Valley Square near Planet Fitness and the Sentara Medical Center.
