WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – On February 25, 2025, at approximately 7:41 am, Waynesboro officers responded to a multi-vehicle traffic collision at Hopeman Parkway and Evershire Street intersection. The collision resulted in the death of Brittany Jean Comer, 31 years old, of Waynesboro. Ms. Comer was identified as the deceased driver at the scene.
Additionally, two young children involved in the collision sustained serious injuries and were transported to UVA Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The other vehicle involved was driven by Brianca Elaine Estes, also 31 years old and from Waynesboro, who had a passenger at the time of the incident. Ms. Estes was transported to Augusta Health with non-life-threatening injuries, while the unidentified passenger was taken to UVA Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Following a preliminary investigation, Waynesboro officers have arrested Estes on charges of involuntary manslaughter, with the possibility of additional charges pending further investigation. As of now, Brianca Elaine Estes remains in custody at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
