Eastern Mennonite University is celebrating Black History Month with a robust schedule of special events.

Now through 23rd, E-M-U will host a diverse slate of talks, seminars and presentations for the mind, body and soul.  Community discussions around race are set for this and next Saturday at 7 o’clock on the university’s Facebook page.

Trivia and open mic nights will happen next week as well – but multicultural student services director Celeste Thomas told Mike Schickman that students are excited about Soul Food Night.

According to university figures, E-M-U is nearly 12-percent black.
