RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) — President Donald Trump has appointed Governor Glenn Youngkin as Co-Chair of the Council of Governors.

The bipartisan group of state leaders serves as a key forum for governors and federal officials to collaborate on disaster response, National Guard operations, and military integration within the states.

The Council of Governors was established by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2008 and formally created by an Executive Order in 2010.

North Carolina’s governor Josh Stein has been selected to join Youngkin as Co-Chair of the council.
