RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) — Flu levels in the state of Virginia are being ranked as some of the highest in the nation.
Recent reports from the CDC show flu activity in Virginia is in the highest tier.
More than 24 million people have gotten sick with the flu across the nation this season and it has resulted in 310-thousand hospitalizations, and 13-thousands deaths.
Health experts stress there is still time to get vaccinated against the flu if you haven’t this season.
Antiviral medications are also effective if taken within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms.
