Harrisonburg, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Police Department has arrested three individuals in connection to a shooting that took place in the 1000 block of Blue Ridge Drive on Wednesday, February 5th.
Detectives from HPD’s Criminal Investigations Division gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses at the scene, leading to the identification of five suspects. Subsequently, search warrants were issued for locations in the 1000 block of Blue Ridge Drive, the 1300 block of Goldfinch Drive, and the 800 block of Jefferson Street. The Harrisonburg Police Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team then executed the search warrants, and three of the five suspects were arrested in connection with this shooting.
Marcus Jamal Smith, 19, of Harrisonburg has been charged with the following:
• 18.2-154- Malicious shooting at occupied motor vehicle
• 18.2-18.2-53.1- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
• 18.2-51- Malicious wounding
• 18.2-51- Attempted malicious wounding
• 18.2-56.1- Reckless handling of a firearm
• 18.2-280- Shooting in a public place
Tye’Quan Turner, 18, of Harrisonburg has been charged with the following:
• 18.2-51- Conspiracy for malicious wounding x2
Demarion Degracia, 19, of Harrisonburg has been charged with the following:
• 18.2-51- Conspiracy for malicious wounding x2
Devontay Phillips, 21, of Harrisonburg, and Alan Garcia-Ruiz, 21 of Rockingham County, are also wanted in connection with this case and are being charged with:
