ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – Rockingham County will dedicate the new indoor track at the Rockingham Recreation Center in the name of Edward S. Long Jr. in a ceremony at the Recreation Center, 1 Rockingham Park Way, Penn Laird, on Saturday February 8, 2025, at 11 AM.

Doors will open at 10:30 AM and only those attending the dedication will be admitted at that time as doors will close at 11 AM until the completion of the ceremony. Doors will reopen at 12pm for warmups prior to the Valley District Indoor Track & Field Finals which will begin at 1pm.

A reception honoring Mr. Edward S. Long Jr. will follow the ceremony in classrooms adjacent to the track.
