A measure sponsored by area Delegate Chris Runion that would allow those with religious beliefs that prohibit them from taking a photograph to buy a firearm will go before the full house for a vote.

House Bill 2467 was reported out of the Committee on Public Safety last week.

Runion told the committee that despite not having a photo ID, those individuals will still have to go through a rigorous process if they want to purchase a firearm.

The bill passed out of the committee on a 13-9 vote and although it is likely to pass out of the House, it will have tough time getting through the Democratic-controlled Senate.
